Daily ScheduleÂ
Overview of the daily schedule:
The main sessions held each day include a morning session for the whole community for connection and announcements (45 minutes), followed by the morning intensive sessions presented by the core trainers (3 hours), followed by two afternoon workshop slots (1.5 hours each) where different workshops will be held in parallel presented by support trainers, followed by empathy home groups (1 hour). After dinner are the evening sessions, held in parallel and presented by core and support trainers, and anyone in the community wanting to make an offering (2 hours).Â
Detailed description of the sessions:
Session 1: Community Connection and Announcements (1 hour)
The first official session of the day brings the whole community together for connection, to learn about the day’s offerings, and to make announcements.
Session 2: Morning Intensive Sessions (3 hours)
The primary learning space in the mornings are called ‘intensive sessions’ and last for 3 hours. The Intensives are theme based, with each core trainer presenting one theme, divided across the days of the convention. Each intensive track will have a particular flow and set of outcomes for participants, thus learning will progress and build on each previous session. Participants will select one of the intensive tracks to attend, and will thus stay with the same core trainer for each morning through the convention. Attending a particular morning intensive track for the duration of the convention will help ensure the flow of learning and personal development. Participants will select their morning intensive track based on their own interests and objectives for the convention. Please see the descriptions of the morning intensive sessions and trainer bios to help select which morning intensive track you would like to join for the convention.Â
Sessions 3 & 4:Â Afternoon Workshop Sessions (1.5 hours each)
Afternoon sessions are called ‘workshops’ and will be offered by support trainers and core trainers. There will be 2-4 sessions run in parallel. Convention participants can choose which workshops they would like to attend on the day, based on interests and preferences. Most of the workshop sessions will be announced in advance so participants can plan which to attend.Â
Session 5: Empathy Home Groups Sessions (1 hour)
Empathy Home groups are a feature of NVC residential trainings. At the beginning of the convention, groups of 4-6 individuals will be formed so that each convention participant is a member of a ‘home group’. Home groups meet at the same time each day and provide a more intimate space for participants to connect, receive empathy and support for anything that may come up, express themselves, and integrate skills learned.Â
Session 6: Evening Sessions (2 hours)
We expect at least one session per evening will be facilitated by Core or Support Trainers, which will include body practices, embodiment, and movement aligned to NVC consciousness. Offerings from other trainers and participants are also welcome and can be on different topics other than movement or embodiment. Sessions will run in parallel.
